......Where a Woman's Strength is Redefined
Aarya-Raas is a girls' club that was initiated to promote women empowerment and work for social causes. Influencing other people as well, Aarya-Raas gets involved in various social activities like visiting and supporting Old age Homes and Orphanages, organizing free medical checkups and blood donation camps.
The inauguration ceremony of Aarya-Raas club in collaboration with Society of Women Engineers was held on 12th September 2022 in Kirloskar Auditorium, Bhau E-Cell, COEP with Mrs. Nandini Shahasane, an advocate, specialized in IPR, Corporate Law and Public Trust Law as chief guest. This year under Aarya-Raas’22-23 we conducted ‘Shardiya Navratri’ the main and the only event of COEP that lasts for the longest duration i.e. 9 days in offline mode after two years of pandemic. The event took place during the joyous festival of Navratri from 26th September 2022 to 5th October 2022. The celebration of Navratri begins with a ritual called Ghatasthapana or Kalash-sthapana and continues for nine days. Ghatasthapana Pooja was performed by Mrs. Chitra Lele from Dnyan Prabodhini. Along with the religious beliefs, she also explained the scientific ideology behind performing the rituals. Devotees of Goddess Durga observe a fast for nine consecutive days and follow a set of color codes on each day. The event was well attended by all the enthusiastic students, faculty and staff members in traditional grooming. The core team and coordinators of the club coordinated the activities to make the event successful. All of them celebrated nine days with joy and cheer. It was a colorful event with teachers joining the students enthusiastically in their dance. More than 600 Students actively participated (including undergraduate, post graduate and ex- students). The club also works actively on its social media handles with the ‘Inspiring Monday Post’s’ quoting the life lessons of successful Indian Women.
Aarya-Raas Club celebrated Women’s Day in collaboration with several other clubs namely The Consulting Club, EBSB, SWE and NSS on 9th March 2023 with IPS Samartana Patil and Cricketer Tejal Hasabnis as chief guest.
