TECHNICAL EDUCATION QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMME (TEQIP) PHASE-III
Introduction:-
Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) was envisaged as a long-term programme of about 10-12 years duration to be implemented in 2-3 phases for transformation of the Technical Education System with the World Bank assistance.
General objectives of Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme are:

Strengthening Institutions to produce high quality engineers for better employability

Scaling-up postgraduate education and demand-driven Research & Development and Innovation,

Establishing Centers of Excellence for focused applicable research

Training of faculty for effective Teaching, and Enhancing Institutional and System Management effectiveness.
TEQIP at COEP:-
TEQIP Project is an ambitious MHRD World Bank Project that has empowered and enabled our institute to transform its brand and image, after acquiring Autonomy in 2003. The project being executed in phases, emphasized on enhancement on UG education in Phase-I (2004-2009), Enhancement on PG-Education & Research in Phase-II (2011-2017) and the Phase-III of the project has been now launched with focus on twinning arrangement between COEP and its Mentee institutes.

In phase-I, the Institute received funds to the tune of 25 crores.

In phase-II, the Institute got 12.5crores and additional 5crore being well performing in the country. Also the institute were sanction two Centers of Excellence (CoE) for which amount of Rs. 5 crore each was allotted.

An now in Phase-III, the institute has been allotted Rs. 7 crore and Rs. 3 crore for sustenance of Centers of Excellence. The COEP (1.3) is twinned with following colleges (1.1) as twinning partners:
1. Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science (SGSITS), Indore.
2. Manipur Technical University (MTU), Imphal.
